TEKS Resource System, which was developed by the Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative (TCMPC), is the District’s adopted curriculum and will be implemented in the four core areas: math, science, ELA, and social studies. The core of TEKS Resource System is its vertical alignment. The curriculum is guided and aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The TEKS Resource System provides specificity to the TEKS and is aligned to the Texas College Readiness Standards with embedded English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS).
TEKS Resource System is an online curricular component that houses the following documents: Instructional Focus Documents (IFDs), Vertical Alignment Documents (VADs), Year at a Glance Documents (YAGs), TEKS Verification Matrices, and Transitional Alignment Guides (TAGs). Teachers should develop lessons using the IFD and based on the 5-E Model of Instruction for math, science, and social studies; and based on the Balanced Literacy Model, a word study, reading, and writing framework, for ELAR.
